Expanding Horizons

The Protea Garden is located on an east facing slope above the Pan-Asian Garden, this garden features over forty varieties of Proteas, which is a very unique family of flowering shrubs and trees native to South Africa and Australia. The Proteaceae are believed to be the most ancient family of flowering plants on this planet. Their ancestors date back over three hundred million years.
