Expanding Horizons

Over the years Expanding Horizons has had the opportunity to renovate a considerable number of pools, update their style and add an Artistic touch to an otherwise old, bland pool.

Hersey Residence: Escondido, CA

Challenged to create a truly unique Poolscape our artisans cut into the pool beam across the slope side of the pool and added a natural rock wall which is anchored to the pool below the waterline. The wall extends the length of the yard and functions as a unifying element. Three Custom Cascade spillways were installed to add a formal water element to the wall. The existing waterfall was demolished and rebuilt to create a dramatic element at the end of the pool.

The existing patios were resurfaced with ’Artistic Flagstone’ which incorporates a variety of flagstones in fields separated by irregular bands of broken bricks and Cobalt blue tile. The effect is of small dry streams becoming increasingly wetter as they flow in in toward the swimming pool.
